5 Original Baptim Gifts for boys that will amaze!

As we said, it’s not always necessary to stick to the obvious traditional baptism gifts for boys that first spring to mind. Many times it makes alot of sense buying something for the baby that is practical.

Normally you may think that this is more fitting for the baby’s birthday or some similar occasion. However, baptism gifts are traditionally optional for most guests, so why not take the opportunity to give something to the little baby boy that will be of use.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

Baby boy Gift packs

Many retailers offer very cute baby boy bibs and booties. These come in a variety of different colours, but blue still tends to be the most popular. The gift packs also normally include other things such as bunny rattles, hats, shampoo, towels and teddy bears.

Baby boy’s first golf club

Now most people will probably scream at me that this is not a baptism gift at all!! Granted, by no stretch of the imagination does this help in any way to underscore the religious importance of the occasion. However, when all is said and done, this will probably one of the most original gifts for the newborn baby boy on his baptism day.

Growth Charts

Again, this is a very practical gift that will document the growth of the baby boy. Traditionally many folks used wallpaper growth charts, but the new trend is to have a canvas personalized with the baby’s name. The growth markers are normally on either the left or right hand side of the chart.

Baby clothes

Most parents will admit that baby clothes are always welcome for a newborn. Many retailers stock a wide range of cute, diverse baby clothes that will doll up the baby boy and make him look like a real young prince. Popular baby boy clothing gifts for baptisms are booties, body suits and hats.

Musical dolls and other toys

I haven’t seen a baby yet that doesn’t like to play with a singing musical doll of some sort. Baby boys are no different. This therefore makes a great gift that the baby will enjoy for hours on end. Be sure to give an extra battery pack as the doll normally requires battery power to operate.

Baby boy wagons are just as popular. Wagons are particularly cute when they are smaller than a standard sized wagon. Finally, stuffed toy has (and always will be) a favourite for the baby and his parents. The baby boy loves playing with a stuffed animal, and it’s safe with no hard, pointy edges.

It’s easy to buy baby baptism gifts for a boy. They key is to be a little more original and think of things most other guests probably won’t think off. The gift doesn’t always need to be religious in nature (different if you're one of the godparents). This is after-all a joyous occasion which can be celebrated with many gifts in many ways!
